About The Practitioner

Justin is a graduate of Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine where he learned a multitude of healing modalities such as acupuncture, acupressure, cupping, guasha, qigong, taichi, and tuina. From an early age, he has been interested in the potential of the human body and mind-body practices. His path brought him to Appalachian State University where he majored in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on traditional medicines and their integration into the modern medical paradigm. During his time at App State, Justin learned about various health practices from around the globe and even got to study abroad in China. Upon graduating App State, Justin found himself at Jung Tao where he studied and practiced the ancient art of Acupuncture and Moxibustion. After four years of hard work and dedication, Justin graduated and became a licensed acupuncturist in North Carolina.

Roots and Branches

Beyond acupuncture and being an acupuncturist, Justin plays music and regularly practices and teaches taichi and qigong. Not only does he find these activites to be beneficial for his health, he uses them as a way to understand and maintain a positive relationship with himself and those around him. Especially in this day and age, where there are constant stressors in life, Justin firmly believes that it is essential to breathe deeply and maintain awareness of the movement of a moment, and our body's reaction to surrounding stimulus. Life is very much like a performance and our reaction to these stressors is the ultimate art form.

What is a Resonant Body?

When the mind and body work in tandem, one achieves harmony. When the bodymind is in harmony with its environment, there is resonance. When the body and environment resonate, disease cannot penetrate and there is health, prosperity, and tranquility. Therefore, a resonant body is a body that is in harmony both internally and externally.
